I won’t lie to you people, I am struggling this morning. Usually I try to be all “what’s the point of hating Monday, your dread won’t stop it from coming so you might as well have a good attitude” but today girlfriend is tired. Also, did you know that 5 a.m. is very early to wake up and try to do p90x-30? Shut up and get me some coffee, Tony Horton.
Friday a miracle happened: the temperature dropped from the triple digits and Texas experienced what I affectionately refer to as an arctic blizzard. Sure, there was no snow, ice or extreme wind, but it was 64 degrees out and I had to put on a light jacket (name that movie). Thank the Lord I even had one handy, we usually store those in the attic from February – January. Did you get it? That it’s never cold enough in stupid Texas for stupid jackets? No? Ugh. Sorry. I’m not funny until coffee cup #4. Which is just around the corner. Well, actually I’m wrong – cup #3 is just around the corner and good Lord I’m rambling on about coffee so HERE let me distract you with another Lorelai Gilmore gif.
Friday night Andy and I put on our light jackets (Bueller? Bueller?) and headed out to
get classy drunk taste wine at every local wino’s favorite festival, Grapefest. It’s your typical festival complete with overpriced fried foods, tons of people and self-important rent-a-cops, except better because there’s this magical thing called the People’s Choice Wine Tasting where you pay $20 for a nifty little bracelet that allows you to sample unlimited* wine varietals from approximately 150 wineries from all over the state, country and world. All right, I don’t know if there were actually any wineries who traveled from another country, but let’s just go with it for dramatic effect.
*Unlimited within the predetermined time period, as agreed upon by festival authorities. Which this year happened to be 90 minutes, whereas in previous years winos could drink with wild abandon for a full two hours. I want
my pink shirt $5 back.
Because I obviously didn’t get enough wine on Friday night, so on Saturday I ventured out with my family to drink more and paint some stuff at Painting with a Twist.
And that was that, here’s a picture of my cats being weirdly intimate.
Tune back in tomorrow when I’ll be thinking real thoughts about real things (specifically: the best books I’ve read lately). Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to find more caffeine.
Happy Monday. May your coffee mugs never run dry,
