Take 10 Tuesday: 10 Things I Wish I Knew 10 Years Ago

me

  1. Those neon pink and black striped leggings you love? Yeah. Stop wearing those.
  2. Ditto to the stretchy sequin belts you’re so fond of wearing three at a time.
  3. You’re doing just fine. In school, in life, everything. Try not to be so worried all of the time.
  4. Sports are not for you. Move on.
  5. Don’t worry about people not liking you.
  6. It’s okay to go to a college far away from all your high school friends, your life will not end like you think it will. You’ll have fun. You’ll meet cool new people. You’ll learn a lot. And possibly meet your future husband (*no spoilers*). Stop stressing.
  7. Do not cut your hair like Mandy Moore in How to Deal. Do not cut your hair like Mandy Moore in How to Deal. Do not cut your hair like Mandy Moore in How to Deal.
  8. I told you so.
  9. Whatever you want to do, you can. I’m serious. I mean you can do literally anything. Be patient though, because most good things in life take time. But as long as you’re willing to work hard, you can do it.
  10. And most importantly: wine is made for sipping, not for chugging. (Even though we both know you will learn this the hard way.)

This is really good advice and I’m pretty sure 17 year old Faith could’ve learned a thing or seven from this post.

    p.s. I don’t care, I’m chugging wine with you.

#5 is hard, for sure. I’m better than I used to be though.
