My Weekend in San Antonio

I am a proud graduate of Trinity University, in San Antonio Texas. The liberal arts school is known for its incredible academic programs, small class sizes (~600 students per academic class year) and its somewhat phallic bell tower. It also just so happens to be the place where I met Mr. Wife in Training, which makes it all the more special to me.  This weekend, I got to go back to campus for a national alumni meeting and boooooooy howdy was it awesome to see the campus again.

I met with other alumni, got to meet the new President of the university, Andy watched the baseball game with one of his friends, we ate ice cream on the river walk, went out for dinner and drinks with some great friends (also on the river walk), ate the very best breakfast tacos in the history of breakfast tacos, and I came home with a vastly overpriced new Trinity shirt that I will love and cherish until the end of time. It was absolutely fantastic.

I can’t really put into words the love I feel in my heart for this incredible place, and how grateful I am that I got to go there, so instead of me trying, getting emotional and making things weird, I’m just going to show you some pictures instead.

If you step on this seal, ninjas will pop out from the bushes and steal you away into the night, never to be seen again.
Just kidding. But upperclassmen WILL yell at you. #DontStepOnTheSeal

The art students always said that this sculpture represented a pregnant woman, or a woman’s womb or something. Maybe I’m just dumb, but I never quite got it.

First look at aforementioned moderately phallic bell tower.

My beloved theatre building. This is where I took classes, performed on the main stage, sacrificed pickles to Dionysus and occasionally streaked through the theatre on opening nights.

This is the performing arts courtyard. It’s in the middle of the theatre, music, art and communication buildings (aka where I spent my whole college career). We occasionally shared it with non-performers when we were feeling generous.

River walk! You can’t tell from the picture, but the man in the bottom left corner was having a very vivid (and quite loud) discussion about his sexual exploits with his three dinner companions.

The perfect breakfast taco should contain four things: eggs, potato, refried beans and cheese. Lots and lots of cheese.

I hope you enjoyed this visual tour of my alma mater. If you didn’t, I hope that you keep it to yourself.

Peace, love and breakfast tacos for all.

It’s a real shame that your school is soooo ugly.

Also, I REALLY want that breakfast taco in my mouth right now.
