Well hello there! I’m glad you’re here, mostly because Andy is yelling at me to stop talking to myself as I write, so now I can talk to you. He totally doesn’t appreciate my art.
Anyway, let’s talk.
I’ve noticed some new readers and Twitter friends – woohoo! – so I figured this would be a great time to get to know each other. I like long walks on the beach, reading leather-bound books and…
Just kidding. The wind at the beach messes up my hair and that seriously pisses me off, and these days I mostly read listen to audio books on my commute to work. Game of Thrones, anyone?
So for all my new readers, let’s get to know each other.
Hi, my name is Lindsay…
I love hairspray. And teasing my hair. Just a little bit, around the crown. The higher the hair, the closer to God. Just please be extra careful with that open flame, my hair is highly flammable at all times.
I love the socks off my new husband. He’s simply the best.
Related: I really love kissing my new husband.
I love white wine: pinot grigio, sauvingnon blanc, chardonnay. In that order. This comes as no shock to those of you who’ve been here before. “Would you like some wine?” Yes. Always yes. Why are we wasting time with silly questions?
I like cooking for people. My husband, our families, our friends. I’m from the south, so I really like the idea of preparing huge, gourmet spreads for guests, but in reality if you come to my house you’ll hear, “Hey, there’s Diet Coke, beer and fresh salsa in the fridge. Help yourself.”
I like Michelob Ultra, Shock Top and that embarrassing sugar-water they call cider beer. Which I probably shouldn’t tell the whole internet about.
I love my cats. Way too much, depending on who you ask.
I love to sing. I sang all the time growing up and in college. Choirs, a cappella ensembles, musical theater, church worship teams, the shower, you name it. I even sang in a special American concert in China once. I don’t really sing right now, except in the car, and I really miss it a lot.
I love Mexican food. Okay, yes, fine, I love most food. But Mexican food especially. My Lord, I could eat it for every meal. Would you still love me if I weighed 400+ pounds? I would still love me if I weighed 400+ pounds. On that note, let’s get some enchiladas.
Okay, it’s your turn. What are your likes and loves?
