Thank you for two wonderful, amazing, insanely happy years. That’s….crap, how many days is that? I feel like Rent should have a song for this. What’s 365 times 2? You would know this off the top of your head, but sorry babe, you’re gonna have to hold on while I go multiply on my phone. Okay yes, here we go. 3…6…5…x…2…That’s…730! 730 days of togetherness. For better or for worse. In sickness and in health. For being great at multiplication or being bad at it. I am so happy to celebrate with you today. But please, let’s leave any and all math out of it from here on out. Thank you in advance for your compliance.
Thank you for making me laugh. No one can crack me up like you can. You not only embrace my weirdness, but meet it at the gates with your own. Plus you always bust that duck/platypus face out at just the right minute. You introduced me to the magic that is Community, and for that alone I will spend a lifetime attempting to show you the depth of my gratitude. Thank you for the giggles.
Thank you for loving me when it’s hard. I know I like to pride myself on being pure joy and sunshine every waking hour, but I also know there have been times where you’ve wanted to strangle me (and vice versa). There have probably also been times when we’ve each deserved it. Thank you for not acting on impulse and murdering me on the spot.
Thank you for the deep talks. You have counseled me in some of my most unhappy, troubled moments in life, and I like to think I’ve managed to do the same for you. They say marriage is a partnership, but I never really understood what that meant until I was in it. You are my partner, the one who can cheer me up and encourage me with a single touch or encouraging word. You are the best partner anyone could hope to have; thank you for being mine.
Thank you for your friendship, for the fist bumps and secret handshakes. I am not only in love with you, but you are my very best friend. I have a great time doing just about everything with you (except pulling weeds in the yard, you know how I feel about that). From lazy evenings sitting on the couch and the ins and outs of everyday life to exploring our way through Europe and other exciting adventures, being with you makes every day infinitely more fun. As Leslie Knope and Ben Wyatt once said, “I love you and I like you.” *Chest slap, hand clap* *Chest slap, hand clap*
Thank you for being a fantastic cat dad. ….And thank you in advance for being an equally fantastic dad someday to our fifteen future children (just kidding).
Thank you for loving me unconditionally and unendingly. If I had it to do all over again, I’d choose you every time. You are my favorite human. Thank you for choosing to love me, over and over again, every single day for the last two years.
Happy two-year anniversary, Thunder. Here’s to 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x infinity more. Love you.
